Our beliefs

BIBLE - The Bible is God's Word.  It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Samuel 22:31; Psalm 119:142, 151, 160; Galatians 1:11-12; 2 Peter 1:21)

GOD - There is one eternal God who is the Creator of all things.  He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  He is totally loving and completely holy.  (Genesis 1,2; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 3:30; John 1:1-4; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 4:8-11; Romans 8:37-39; Leviticus 11:44; Psalm 22:3)

JESUS - Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God.  He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again.  He is now our Mediator, High Priest and Advocate.  (John 1:9-18; 5:18; 20:28-31; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9; Ephesians 1:19-23; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25)

HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, imparts spiritual gifts and indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers us to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us.  (John 14:16-17, 26; 16:7-15; Romans 8:9; 12:1-8; 15:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 2:22; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18; 1 John 2:27)

PEOPLE - People are created in the image and likeness of God.  Sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.  (Genesis 1:26-27; John 3:7, 16; Romans 3:8-23, 5:12, 6:23, 8:5-8)

SALVATION - In order to receive forgiveness and the "new birth", we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.  Our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to Jesus Christ.  Salvation is obtained, maintained and eternally secured for believers by the grace and power of God.  God wants to heal and transform us so we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.  (Romans 6:23; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1; 10:9-10; John 10:29; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Isaiah 61)

ORDINANCES - Water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church today.  They are, however, not to be regarded as a means of salvation. (Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Matthew 28:19-20; 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Ephesians 2:8-9)

CHURCH - We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the "breaking of bread".  God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live. (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25; Romans 12)

CHRIST'S RETURN - Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.  Judgment will occur and people will go to heaven or hell based on their response to Jesus Christ.  (Matthew 24:44; 25:13, 30, 34, 41, 46; John 5:28-29; 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:12-58; Revelation 14:9-11; 20:10; 21:1-14; 22:3; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Isaiah 66:22-24; Daniel 12:1-2)
